Geoffrey Loff
Conductor Geoffrey Loff is a sought-after musical partner for a number of musical institutions worldwide and has collaborated with Sir Simon Rattle, Christian Thielemann and Daniel Barenboim, amongst others. Since the 2024/25 season, he has been assistant to the General Music Director James Gaffigan at the Komische Oper Berlin and most recently served on the musical staff of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden. Loff is the recipient of the Solti Foundation U.S.’s Career Assistance Award in 2026 and 2023, the Olga Forrai Foundation’s conducting scholarship in 2025, and second prize at the Blue Danube Opera Conducting Competition. He is a graduate of the Aspen Conducting Academy, the Houston Grand Opera Studio and the Minnesota Opera’s Resident Artist Programme. In 2025, Geoffrey Loff made his debut at the Komische Oper Berlin, where he conducted the world premiere of Consistent Fantasy is Reality and also staged the work at the Vienna State Opera. Loff also made his debut at the Stara Zagora State Opera and with the Pazardzhik Philharmonic Orchestra. In previous seasons, Geoffrey Loff has also served as associate guest conductor at the San Francisco Opera, assistant conductor at the Houston Grand Opera, and music director of the Houston Grand Opera’s HGOco Community and Learning programme. His upcoming conducting engagements include performances at the Komische Oper Berlin, Theater Hagen, Opera Orlando and the Stara Zagora State Opera. Loff’s wide-ranging repertoire includes symphonic works, chamber music, art songs and solo works. He is also a concert and accompanist pianist who has performed with the Berliner Staatskapelle, for the Chopin Foundation of the United States, and with Thomas Hampson, Luca Pisaroni and Anna Maria Martinez.
