Matthias Buss
Matthias Buss is a freelance performer, singer and lyricist. After training as a hairdresser in Münsterland, he studied applied cultural studies in Hildesheim. He worked as an ensemble member with Barbara Mundel at the Lucerne Theatre and with Wilfried Schulz at the Hanover State Theatre. There he worked with René Pollesch, Sebastian Welker and Clemens Sienknecht, Sebastian Baumgarten, Florian Fiedler and Nicolas Stemann.
He works freelance in a collective with Sebastian Kreyer at the Theater im Bauturm in Cologne, in Berlin at the Volksbühne with Herbert Fritsch and Sabrina Zwach, at the Freiburg Theatre, the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg and in the independent scene in Hanover, where he lives. Buss regularly shoots for TV and cinema productions. He was most recently represented at the Venice Film Festival with the international production ‘Assandria’ and is currently performing at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, as Trude Herr and at the Theater im Bauturm Cologne. In his first collaboration at the Komische Oper Berlin, he plays Beauperthuis in Horse Eats Hat.
