Zhifeng Hu
Zhifeng Hu, born in Berlin, graduated from the C. Ph. E. Bach Music High School in Berlin-Mitte, where she took lessons as a junior student with Thomas Just (Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin). From 2015, she studied at the Berlin University of the Arts in the piano class of Prof Linde Großmann. She then continued her studies with Prof Alexander Vitlin at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, specialising in accompaniment.
She has won prizes in numerous competitions, including 1st prize in the Dussmann Competition for Young Pianists and 3rd prize in the International Steinway Competition, which led to her performing as a soloist in the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie and the Apollo Hall of the Berlin State Opera. She received several prizes at the national level of ‘Jugend Musiziert’, 2nd prize at the Alice Samter Chamber Music Competition and the rbb Kulturradio Special Prize with production of a CD in the rbb Sendesaal. Since 2021 she has been a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Berlin e.V. association.

In 2015, she performed Beethoven's 3rd Piano Concerto as a soloist in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church with the Orchestra of the Berlin Music High School under the direction of Tilo Schmalenberg. In the same year, she performed the Grieg Piano Concerto with the Berlin State Youth Orchestra under the direction of Daniel Carlberg in the Great Hall of the Konzerthaus Berlin.
She has been intensively involved in vocal music for several years, including accompanying Prof Stephan Rügamer's singing class at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin.
In summer 2022, she took part in the Bayreuth Festival as a répétiteur and musical assistant for the production of the children's opera Lohengrin. In spring 2023, she took part in the ‘Neue Szenen VI’ in the Tischlerei of the Deutsche Oper Berlin in collaboration with the directors Jose Cortes and Dennis Krauß as a repetiteur and at the same time appeared as a performer.
Masterclasses with Sir Donald Runnicles (Deutsche Oper Berlin), Vineta Sareika (Artemis Quartet), Fabio Bidini, and Will Humburg gave her important impulses.
Since the 23/24 season she has been working as a pianist in the opera studio of the Komische Oper Berlin.
