Frank Philipp Schlößmann
Frank Philipp Schlößmann, born in Bad König in the Odenwald, studied stage and costume design at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Since then, he has worked with directors such as Andreas Homoki, Olivier Tambosi, Harry Kupfer, Aron Stiehl and Stephen Lawless at numerous opera houses, including the Berlin Opera houses, the Munich State Opera, the Semperoper Dresden, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Cologne Opera, the National Theatres Mannheim and Weimar, as well as in Hamburg, Hanover and Wiesbaden. Internationally, he works as a set and costume designer at the Metropolitan Opera New York, the San Francisco Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Houston Grand Opera, the Los Angeles Opera, the San Diego Opera, the Royal Opera House London and the English National Opera, among others. He has also worked in Strasbourg, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Zurich, Basel, Bern, Linz, the Vienna Volksoper as well as at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, in Beijing, Tokyo and at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. He also designed sets for the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, the Handel Festival in Halle, the Bayreuth Festival Der Ring des Nibelungen 2006–10, and Tristan und Isolde 2015–19. He designed the sets for a production of Franco Faccio's forgotten opera Amleto at the Bregenz Festival as well as for the world premiere of Lenua in Zurich. At the Komische Oper Berlin, he developed the stage design of My Fair Lady under the direction of Andreas Homoki.
