Ma­xi­mil­ian Ha­ge­me­yer

Maximilian Hagemeyer studied cultural studies at the universities of Hildesheim and Bologna. While still a student, he completed directing and dramaturgy internships with Barrie Kosky and Anselm Weber at the Aalto-Theater Essen, among others, as well as internships at the Neue Ruhr Zeitung and 3sat/ZDFkultur. From 2012 to 2017 he was engaged as an assistant dramaturg at the Komische Oper Berlin. This was followed by positions as a music theatre and concert dramaturge at the Theater für Niedersachsen and from 2018 to 2023 at the Komische Oper Berlin, where he worked with directors such as Barrie Kosky, Kirill Serebrennikov, Ruth Brauer-Kvam and Robert Carsen. He has also worked with director Anna Drescher for many years, for example for productions at the Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn, the Theater Lübeck, the Baden-Baden Easter Festival, the Stadttheater Giessen and the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. Her production of White Rose at TOBS has won numerous prizes and has been invited to guest performances in London, Vienna and Oslo. Since 2024, Maximilian Hagemeyer has been program coordinator for music, performing arts and literature for the Berlin district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf with the Schwartzsche Villa cultural center as the main venue.
