Martina Borroni was born in Milan and completed her training as a contemporary dancer at the Accademia Pier Lombardo in 2008 under the direction of Susanna Beltrami. In 2009 she moved to Berlin, where she began an extensive career at renowned opera houses and theatres in Europe. For more than a decade she worked at the Komische Oper Berlin, the Schaubühne Berlin, the Staatsoper Stuttgart, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the Salzburg Festival and for major musical productions in Germany and Austria. She has been involved in numerous productions as a dancer, dance captain and choreographic assistant.

Parallel to her stage career, she continued to develop her work as a choreographer. She has created choreographies for the Komische Oper Berlin, the Opernhaus Zürich, the Oper Graz, the Maxim Gorki Theater, the »Political Voice Institute«, the Staatstheater Mainz and for various opera and operetta productions, among others. Her choreographic signature combines contemporary technique, theatrical expression and a high stylistic versatility – shaped by her many years of experience in opera, operetta, musicals and contemporary dance.

Martina Borroni is currently working as a freelance choreographer for various directors and music theatre productions. In the 2025/26 season, she will develop the choreography for Konrad oder Das Kind aus der Konservenbüchse, Salome and In Frisco ist der Teufel los at the Komische Oper Berlin.
