Chris­ti­an Ih­le Had­land

Pianist Christian Ihle Hadland came to international attention in 2011 when he began a two-year stint as a BBC New Generation Artist. As a New Generation Artist, he performed with all five BBC symphony orchestras from London to Manchester and gave solo and chamber music concerts in London. At the end of his tenure, Hadland soloed with Beethoven's Second Piano Concerto in a live broadcast at the BBC Proms with the Oslo Philharmonic under Vasily Petrenko.

Hadland made his professional concert debut at the age of 15 with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK). Since then he has performed with all the major orchestras in Scandinavia, including the Swedish Radio and Danish National Symphony Orchestras, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Oslo Philharmonic and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. In the UK he has performed as a concerto soloist with The Hallé, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Manchester Camerata, in addition to his work with the BBC orchestras. In 2013 he undertook a concert tour of the UK with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra under Andrew Litton. Hadland made his debut in the USA in 2013 with the Seattle Symphony.
