Brittens »The Young Persons Guide To the Orchestra«
Instrument Atlas
Jung für alle
In this beloved piece, Benjamin Britten introduces us to the orchestra and all its instruments. We meet them as a variety of animals: sometimes chirping and nimble like a bird, sometimes deep and heavy like an elephant, sometimes gliding and shiny like a fish. It all begins with a single motif that comes again and again, gradually travelling through the whole orchestra. Along the way, we discover what the instruments have in common and what makes them different: high and low, bright and dark, loud and soft – it’s all there.
