Michael Inglis
Michael Inglis’ diverse career as a theatre-maker has taken him to theatre spaces around the globe, in various creative and technical roles. He has worked across diverse genres, from musicals and contemporary circus, to drama, physical theatre, puppetry and visual theatre.
His company, Emmet Theatre, is dedicated to the creation of innovative South African theatre works, blending creative and technical knowledge to produce remarkable theatrical experiences.
He has been a regular collaborator at the Centre for the Less Good Idea over the last three years, on various productions in South Africa and abroad. He worked previously with Nhlanhla Mahlangu and S’busiso Shozi as lighting designer on their production, African Exodus, during the Centre’s Season 10 in Johannesburg (SA), and at the Perelman Performing Arts Centre, in New York (USA), and is currently presenting Selemo in collaboration with Komische Oper Berlin and Neuköllner Oper, as Technical Director and Lighting Designer.
