Victoria Behr, born 1979 in Koblenz, Germany, studied costume design at Hamburg Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften (University for applied sciences). After graduation 2003 she assisted costume designing at Schauspielhaus Bochum, Schauspielhaus and Opernhaus Zürich and at Salzburger Festspiele.
Since 2008 she has been working as a freelance costume designer in close collaboration with stage director Herbert Fritsch amongst others at Centraltheater Leipzig, Theater Bremen, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Schauspiel Köln, Residenztheater München and Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz Berlin. 2010 she started started designing for Matthias Hartmann at Opernhaus Zürich and Burgtheater Wien.
2011 and 2012 Victoria Behr has been awarded "Costume Designer of the year" by the German magazine "Theater heute" for her costume designs for the production of Nora at Theater Oberhausen and Die Spanische Fliege at Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz Berlin. On a regular basis she works with stage director Niklaus Helbling at Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Burgtheater in Wien, and others.
Victoria Behr has also been working for productions by Latvian director Alvis Hermanis and Stefan Pucher at Deutsches Theater Berlin and Australian director Benedict Andrews at the Young Vic in London.
