»Through a colorful meadow of flowers a colorful animal takes a stroll. Strolling along, it wonders to itself: is it really true that I’m nothing at all?« In Elisabeth Naske’s musical adaptation of the famous children’s book by Mira Lobe and Susi Weigel, the little I-Am-Me sets off on a journey in pursuit of its own identity. Its poignant and tumultuous search is supported by five musicians. Clarinets, accordion and cello play parrot, hippo, dog, fish, horse ... and of course the little I-Am-Me, turning the story into an imaginative musical adventure.
Each station on the little I-Am-Me’s way is not only filled with all kinds of adventure. The renowned Austrian composer Elisabeth Naske, creator of numerous children's operas, presents an eclectic musical mix, far beyond any stylistic constraints. With a bluesy hippo song, a swift horse’s gallop, a fish’s tranquil bubbling and a cheeky frog rap, the piece is an entertaining and contemporary introduction to the wonderful world of music.

Shadow play performers from the Weiten Theater will provide the theatrical depiction, skillfully employing puppets and handheld spotlights to recreate the scenes in a wonderful manner that makes use of the entire audience chamber up to the ceiling. A thought-provoking and fun-filled performance spanning 50 minutes of magical visual and auditory enjoyment for children 4 to 10 years of age and their families.
