House. Music. Theatre. – Backstage at the Komische Oper Berlin
How do notes become music? Who composes the texts for the vocalists? Who builds the sets, and where?
In collaboration with the TheaterGemeinde Berlin (Berlin Theatrical Association), artists and staff at the Komische Oper Berlin give exclusive insights into the world behind the scenes at an opera house. On four different dates, interested members of the public are given the opportunity to learn more about the creation and processes involved in a selected musical theatre production during workshop discussions and short tours. “Backstage” allows you to experience up close the work that goes into musical theatre and to pose questions of staff and artists in an informal conversational setting.
Following successful backstage visits in previous seasons, the programme for the current season for the first time features an encounter with a Baroque composition – Georg Friedrich Handel’s Poro, produced by none other than directing legend Harry Kupfer.
