Thomas Meadowcroft
Thomas Meadowcroft composes and arranges music for concerts, theatre and radio. He has worked with various orchestras and ensembles, including members of the SWR Big Band and the SWR Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the soloist ensemble Kaleidoskop, the girls' choir of the Singakademie zu Berlin, Speak Percussion (Melbourne), asamisimasa (Oslo) and the New York ensemble Yarn/Wire.
From 1994 to 1998, Meadowcroft studied composition with George Crumb in the USA. In 2013, 2016 and 2021, he produced a series of radio pieces on aspects of Australian regional culture for Deutschlandfunk Kultur and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. In 2015, he developed the orchestration and arrangement for the opera Von einem der auszog, weil er sich die Miete nicht mehr leisten konnte by René Pollesch and Dirk von Lowtzow, which premiered at the Volksbühne am Rosaluxemburg-Platz Berlin in the same year. His music has been released by Mode Records and NYC.
