Hans-Martin Nau

After completing his singing studies in Weimar, Hans-Martin Nau was engaged in Plauen/Vogtland (1960-63) and at the Landestheater Halle/Saale (Händel Award). An engagement by the Komische Oper Berlin followed in 1969. Here he was appointed in 1983 Chamber Singer. He sang up to hundred media, small and smallest parts at this House (Melitone, Gremin, Kezal, Bartolo, Tsar Saltan, Mandarin, Colline, Haushofmeister). His interpretation of the Father in »The Prodigal Son« of B. Britten at the Carinthische Sommer in Ossiach (Kärnten) found great recognition. He was singing this part for fifteen years.
In the 2006/07 season he will sing at the Komische Oper Berlin, amongst others, Notary in »The Knight of the Rose, Frog in »The Bat«, Antonio in »The Marriage of Figaro« and Count Ferdinand Lichtenfeld in the new production »Land of Smile«. This season he sings Benoit in »La Bohème«, Tuck in »Robin Hood« and Antonio in »The marriage of Figaro«.
