www.gumos.com Title part in »La Périchole«, Octavian in »The Knight of the Rose«, Polina in »Pique Dame« The Polish mezzo soprano studied in Pozna´n with Wojciech Maciejowski and at the Berlin University of Music »Hanns Eisler« with Anneliese Fried. Already during her studies she was engaged as soloist at the Dortmund Theatre. There she sang, amongst others, Zerlina, Fenena in »Nabucco«, Cherubino, and Olga in »Jewgeni Onegin«. Then she was engaged by the Braunschweig Staatstheater, where she extended her repertoire by such parts as Niklas in »Tales of Hoffmann«, Ottavia in »The Crowning of Poppea«, Sextus in »La Clemenza di Tito«, as well as the title part in the German premiere of Philippe Boesman's »Julie«. Concert tours and guest performances took Karolina Gumos to Poland, Italy, Spain, Belgium and Switzerland, and others, as well as to the Teatro de la Maestranza in Sevilla, the Hamburg Staatsoper, the Opera Seoul, the RuhrTriennale in Duisburg, the Musica Mallorca, the Wratislavia Cantans in Wroclaw or the Lutoslawski-Festival in Warsaw. She is award-winner of the international Ada-Sari-Singing-Contest and the Chamber Opera Schloss Rheinsberg. She has performed with famous conductors (such as Reinhard Schwarz, Peter Schneider, Friedermann Layer, Stefan Soltesz, Michael Boder, Ion Marin, Pedro Halffter, Alexander Vedernikov, Jörg Peter Weigle, Eugeniusz Kus, Julien Salemkour und Arthur Fagen ) and she has also worked with opera producers as Willy Decker, Hans Neuenfels, Christine Mielitz, Marco Arturo Marelli, Udo Samel, Beverly Blankenship, Lucas Kindermann, Uwe Schwarz and Sebastian Baumgarten). She has guest contracts with the Teatro de la Maestranza in Sevilla, the Semperoper Dresden, the Hamburg State Opera , the BESETO Opera Seoul, and has given concerts in Spain, Poland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and Korea. Since 2006 she is a member of the Komische Oper Berlin ensemble«.
