Life in the big city is magnificent, especially for ants and centipedes. There's food on the streets, there's always something going on, and the finest sport for cool boys like Kostas the housefly and Erdal the horsefly is rear-view-mirror surfing. Annabelle the ant, Natalie the garden spider, Kurt the ladybird (whose real name is Kung and who hails from China), and their friends could have it so good in their insect colony – If it hadn’t been for the sudden appearance of Gesine, the cricket from the country. When she wistfully tells of her fragrant summer meadow, Annabelle and Natalie are filled with longing for the green idyll. The good mood is ruined, causing the boys to push Gesine quickly into a leaf sucker, which in turn outrages Annabelle and Natalie. Now this so diverse group of friends must stay true to one another, as this is the only way they will save Gesine and perhaps also find the meadow paradise. Christian Jost's colourful and humorous music grooves to the rhythm of the big city, touched by shimmering lyrical moments and the breath of the »Mayfly Blues«.
