For many years now, the sponsoring group of the Komische Oper Berlin has stood by "its" opera with words and deeds. Our aim is to support one of Germany's most renowned opera houses in its task of keeping opera alive as a genre. Every audience member at the Komische Oper Berlin quickly learns that musical theatre is not a thing of the past. Here opera is a timeless phenomenon which time and again touches and inspires people of all ages.
As the chairman of the sponsoring group, I wish to offer my deepest thanks to all those who for years have been supporting the Komische Oper Berlin as friends and sponsors. But I also wish to gain more sponsors. Just like the Komische Oper Berlin, our group must continually develop and forge new paths. Thus I ask you to join us, and thereby support the work of the Komische Oper Berlin, especially its unique children's programme and the help it provides to a new generation of young artists.
