Joska Lehtinen

The tenor Joska Lehtinen was born in Vaasa, Finland, and studied singing under Matti Pelo at the Helsinki Conservatory, and at Lirica del Mediterraneo Opera Academy in Palermo. He received additional singing lessons from Salvatore Fisichella, Aki Alamikkotervo, and Monika Hauswalter. Joska Lehtinen gathered his first solo singing experiences in Helsinki, Nuremberg, Regensburg, Palermo, and Catania. In 2007, he held a solo concert as part of the Beniamino Gigli Festival in Bologna. In the following year, he was a finalist in the Timo Mustakallio competition at the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland, and has several times been a Finnish Culture Foundation scholarship-holder. In 2009, he won the 2nd-place award at the International »Vilho Kekkonen« tenor competition in Finland.
Since the 2010/11 season, Joska Lehtinen has been a full-time member of the Komische Oper Berlin ensemble and since then has performed here in such roles as »Don Ottavio« in »Don Giovanni«.
