Alessandro De Marchi studied at the Rome Conservatoire and at the Schola Cantorum Basilensis. He performs regularly for the most renowned theatres and at the most important festivals. Up to now, he conducted at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, for the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, for the Hamburg Staatsoper, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Saxon State Opera in Dresden, the Essen Aalto-Theater, the Opéra National in Lyon, with the MDR in Hanover, at the Prague Estates Theatre, with the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad, the Montreux Festival, the Händel-Festival in Halle, the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, the Academia Santa Cecilia Orchester in Rome, amongst others Giovanni Battista Pergolesis »Il matrimonio Segreto«, Gaetano Donizetti's »Don Pasquale«, Joseph Haydn's »L isola disabitata«, Gioacchino Rossini's »The Barber of Seville«und »La Cenerentola«, Christoph Willibald Gluck's Don Juan, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Il re Pastore, »Le nozze di Figaro«, »Così fan tutte«, »Don Giovanni«, »La Clemenza di Tito«, »The Abduction from the Seraglio«, Claudio Monteverdi's »Incoronazione di Poppea«, Reinhard Keiser's »Der lächerliche Prinz Jodelet«, Georg Friedrich Händel's »Julius Caesar in Egypt«, »Alcina« und Johann Adolph Hasse's »Cleofide«.
Alessandro De Marchi is first conductor of the orchestra of the Academia Montis Regalis. He performed with the orchestra Antonio Vivaldi's »Juditha Triumphans«, »Orlando finto pazzo «(both recorded for Naïve), »L Olimpiade« on a concert tour for the Paris Théâtre des Champs Elysées. In Lyon he has rehearsed »Il re pastore« for the Innsbruck Festival.
Besides, he took part in CD recordings for Naïve, Opus 111, Harmonia Mundi France, Accord, Symphonia, K617, Auvidis, WDR, Radio France, Radio Classique and Amadeus.
In the season 2007/08 Alessandro De Marchi conducted for the Komische Oper Berlin Georg Friedrich Händel's »Theseus« and in the season 2009/10 he will conduct an opera of Händel again: »Orlando«.
